Rolex Daytona 6263

The reference 6263 is well-known among collectors for being the last of the old-style manual-wind Daytonas before Rolex began using a modified Zenith El Primero automatic movement. The black-dial version followed its white-dial counterpart, with production running from the mid-1970s until 1988. Yet to feature crown guards, and coming in a smaller case diameter of 37mm, this reference is preferred by many vintage Rolex fans to the more modern Daytonas, which have a more muscular aesthetic. This sought-after reference ran on a workhorse Valjoux 727 calibre, which Rolex relied on for many years before finally switching to the 4030 Zenith-based movement, ushering in a new era for this iconic chronograph.

This Rolex Daytona 6263 has a Black Baton dial and a Bracelet strap. Due to age, this Rolex may not fall within our typical expected tolerances for timekeeping, and is no longer suitable for use in wet environments or submersion in water. In the interests of preserving original features, utmost care has been taken to sympathetically restore this watch. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history. One of our skilled polishing technicians has removed marks on the case and bracelet of this watch, brought about by daily wear and tear, which is why this watch does not come with the remaining manufacturer’s warranty.
