Rolex GMT Master 16750

The GMT-Master is the most famous dual-time watch ever made. It was the result of a collaboration between Rolex and Pan Am, who asked the brand to come up with a watch that enabled its long-haul pilots to track multiple time zones simultaneously. The reference 16750 was launched around 1981 as a successor to the long-running 1675, with very few aesthetic differences between these much-loved vintage classics. Besides an increased water resistance, the most significant update was the Caliber 3075 powering the watch, which came with a convenient quickset date function. This specific model features the more familiar “Pepsi” red and blue aluminium bezel—which has faded nicely—although the 16750 was also produced with an all-black bezel. It comes on an Oyster bracelet.
